Starting today on Netflix: How To Sell Drugs Online and it's fun

how to sell drugs online new netflix series

Many regular Netflix viewers are becoming real drug experts if this continues. We now know exactly how things work in Brabant-Belgian drug land (thanks Undercover), including incomprehensible accents and the Mexican cartels are also no longer foreign to us thanks to Narcos, well, now we can take a look at the German drug trade starting today, which is quite clumsier in the new series How To Sell Drugs Online than in the aforementioned series, by the way.

To begin with, How To Sell Drugs Online revolves around teenagers. And these teenagers are not the most popular, but rather the chairperson of the Nerdy Club. It doesn't matter of course, but they don't always come up with the most thoughtful plans, as it turns out. And when the girlfriend of one of these nerdy teenagers breaks up with him, he comes up with the perfect plan to win her back. Well, yes, perfect... He decides to sell ecstasy from his bedroom. Nothing is as sexy as a drug dealer, of course.

But well, dealing drugs goes quite smoothly and before he knows it, he is one of the most famous dealers in Europe.

Unbelievable? Think again. It is based on true stories. In 2013, Maximilian S. (then 18 years old) started an online drug trade — indeed from his bedroom. On the Darknet and Clearnet, he dealt all over Europe under the nickname ‘Shiny Flakes’. For me, the dark web is completely uncharted territory, but apparently, that drug trade is quite a fast world.

Fast and lucrative. Because Maximilian earned four million euros in bitcoins in two years, until he was arrested and thrown behind bars after a confession. Oh, Maximilian, those bitcoins have crashed anyway, so you would have lost those millions regardless. Small consolation: he has to serve seven years, so deduct some good behavior from that and it means he might soon be able to watch the series himself.

And those events are all still quite recent, which makes the series at least a lot more credible and addictive for me. Because it is such a far-from-my-bed show, but I think everyone finds the drug world quite interesting. Don't expect only serious storylines, there is also dry humor in it, which keeps it quite light.

And binge-worthy. So starting today; check the trailer for yourself below.
