The 6 things I thought about season 3 of 13 Reasons Why

Thirteen reasons why

The Netflix series that caused the most controversy ever is back since the end of last week. It's not often that Netflix removes a scene, but the (intensely graphic) suicide scene of Hannah Baker has been cut. In the meantime, we have already arrived at season 3, and well, I had a few thoughts about that. Just like the Twitter community, by the way. I don't do Twitter, so I'm sharing my opinions here about season 3. Was it the best so far? No Hannah Baker, so no. But looking forward to season 4? Absolutely.

  • Is there anyone left from this cast? Maybe it's better that the creators announced that season 4 will be the last, because at a pretty rapid pace, there's nothing left of the cast. But fair is fair: a season dedicated to a mysterious death is definitely more exciting than a season about a prolonged lawsuit (I wasn't such a fan of season 2).
  • Ani WHO? Who is this chick? Okay, I understand that the story around Hannah Baker is really over now, but treating us to a completely new character that we don't know but who is our narrator for the whole season without warning? I find it bold. But yes, nothing ventured, nothing gained, although this move doesn't really seem like a winner. Twitter is, to put it mildly, not amused and I myself have to get used to it as well.
  • Very fun: it has almost become a detective series. As I said in point 1: such a mysterious death intrigues me. It's also perfectly fine that it's Bryce Walker a.k.a. serial racist. I think almost all viewers have been done with him since season 1. What a nasty kid.
  • But whether Clay is the best Sherlock Holmes... Nah. Literally everyone who passes by is a suspect in his eyes. I understand that he's just a high school student, but I would advise him to watch a bit more detective shows. Even at Riverdale they are better at tracking down killers, and that says something.
  • Normally, I don't like replacing cast members, but that Tony has to keep going for three seasons as a high schooler, no sorry. Just to be clear: in 2009 the actor was 17. You could have cast him then. Since season 1, I've been confused in every scene he's in. Huh? What is that old guy doing with those young kids? Is this their parental supervision?
  • Okay, I'm back on board. Season 4, bring it on. I'm not going to spoil the ending for you, because not everyone has the same viewing pace as I do. But whoever ultimately killed Bryce: GO you. In other words, the MVP of season 3. I hope that (okay, here's a little spoiler) Ani and Clay's romance is a delightful one-night stand, because those two really have the chemistry of a toolbox.

Below are a few of the funniest tweets I found about Ani. That's actually what most Twitter reactions are about. The viewers are not happy, but it's quite funny.
