The anti-purchase checklist

With the thought that a bad purchase costs us thousands of euros (yes really, it has been proven), my good intentions this year are not about eating healthy, exercising more, or my procrastination. Something needs to be done about those bad purchases and it needs to happen now. From items you bought in a moment of impulse (because you just really felt like something new) to the great discounts on your favorite brands during the sale: whatever the reason behind that bad purchase is, this year we are going to do it completely differently thanks to Amayzine's anti-purchase checklist.
The moment supreme
Nothing feels as good as treating yourself to something nice during a really bad day. But it's really not a good idea. Yes, right after your purchase you feel a lot better, but once you're home, you feel really bummed out. So during a shopping day, it's important that you feel good to easily walk past that bad purchase. So are you feeling grumpy? Just plop down on the couch and watch Netflix.
Sale
It's sale time at your favorite store and you're guaranteed to come back with way too many items that you don't need at all and that you only bought because they were a bargain. Cheap is in this case definitely expensive. So avoid impulses.
Wednesday = shopping day
Did you know that the first Wednesday of the month is the best shopping day of the month? On this day, new clothing usually arrives, giving you extra choices to score the perfect size.
Good advice for bad times
Of course, the sales assistant thinks everything looks a-ma-zing on you. And sure, a little advice can't hurt, but try not to get too caught up in their enthusiasm. Especially don't fall for the ‘really something for you’ quotes: they don't know you, nada, nothing.
Feel the love
There are of course countless arguments to come up with why you should score the item in question (it's a trend, because it looked amazing on your friend, or because the color looks so beautiful with your eyes), but ultimately the most important question remains: will it really make me happy?
Comfort zone
Step out of your comfort zone when it comes to your usual shopping stops. Why buy three Zara dresses and find one piece from a designer too expensive? Think twice, girl, this is investing in much longer-lasting fashion.
When in doubt…
So don't do it.
Shopping list
Before you get dragged into the shopping street, it's smart to make a shopping list for yourself. What do you really need, what do you miss when you stand in front of your wardrobe and why do you wear certain items so little?
From trading comes crying
Never forget to ask in that little boutique if you can return your clothes. Before you know it, you leave the store during your exchange visit with a voucher that you then forget to use forever.
Who fits the shoe
Never buy shoes at the end of the day. Why? Your feet are often a bit swollen from the heat, which means your feet might be half a size larger.
