Shocking: that bad purchase will cost you thousands of euros

We all have made a bad purchase at some point. Some more (ahem) than others, but we accept them. A closet overflowing with clothes but still nothing to wear. Do you recognize it? I do. I had hoped for a kind of ‘greedy phase of life’, but it turns out: bad purchases are part of our lives. And if you, like me, think you are the only one who considers almost half of her closet a bad purchase, then I have ‘good’ news: we are not alone.

Research shows that there is an enormous amount of never-worn clothing hanging in your closet. Online platform On Buy researched what is actually in women's wardrobes and came to a few shocking conclusions. Take the whole bad purchase story; we have paid for the clothes, but the status of them is actually very serious. It turns out that every woman only wears 40 percent of her clothing, which would amount to around €2,700.

Okay, picture yourself for a moment in front of your wardrobe. Just had a nice shower and here comes the question of questions: ’what to wear?‘ Ai ai ai, it’s true, isn’t it? At our editorial office, we are definitely guilty of it, unanimously. And now we are actually only wondering one thing: how is it possible that we don’t wear so much clothing? The answer is actually very simple and we can all surely relate: impulse purchases. And precisely for that reason, Vivienne Westwood encourages women to think better when considering buying something. ’Buy less, choose better.‘ Thanks for the tip, Viv, I will do my best. €2,700… That suddenly comes very close to my walk-in closet. Chanel bag suddenly feels very close to my walk-in closet.
