The bikini yank is a thing on Instagram and I have so many questions

Give influencers a vacation and you'll be stuck with a new trend. I remember the summer well when it suddenly appeared: the thigh gap. Followed by a thigh brow, after which everyone suddenly celebrated vacation in the Bambi pose or did a little flamingo. It gives people a useful pastime. But now there's the bikini yank and I'm not quite sure what to do.

In five weeks, I'm flying to my beloved Greek island, where I'll indulge in grilled eggplants, cocktails, and books on beach beds. The locals know me a bit by now and know that I'm an avid photographer. My love at every meal (and there are many on vacation), but also my feet with the sea, the angle of my umbrella, or a book on the corner of a bed with sunscreen. No Insta trend is foreign to me. I didn't have the thigh gap, I let the thigh brow and Bambi pass me by unnoticed, I managed to sneak by with the flamingo, but I think the bikini yank is going to be problematic. I can already see the three Greek generations in front of me, sitting at the little table by the beach where they enjoy their coffee with a cookie every morning, and then suddenly I start pulling up my bikini bottom. Already a phenomenon in itself, but that I also let my boyfriend immortalize this... I don't even know what to say about it, let alone the three Greek generations. I have so many questions because of that yank.

I still remember being aware of my bikini for the first time; until then, I had purely technical swimming associations with the garment. I didn't want any edges, it especially shouldn't sag when you walked out of the water, and god forbid if it pulled somewhere it shouldn't. And now we pull it ourselves, but high too, and sometimes when I look closer, also painfully hard. I think, I don't know. I also keep hearing the saleswoman in my ear: don't wring it out when rinsing because then it will sag. But it will sag if you yank it, right? Right? What I said: so many questions.

What actually surprises me the most is that there are really very attractive bikini yanks among them. So maybe I should just skip it for the peace of mind of the Greek generations; you can just enjoy practicing it at the vacation spot. If you feel like it, because on vacation, nothing is a must.
