The Grammys revolved around queen of pop Lady Gaga this year

Sunday evening was the most important musical night of 2019 (and it's only February). Yes, the Grammys. And this year they were dominated by two artists: Lady Gaga and Childish Gambino. Now the latter didn't even bother to show up, which means Lady Gaga gets the full spotlight from us. And rightly so, because what a voice she has.
And she doesn't just use that voice for singing; she can absolutely give a good speech too. When accepting her Grammy, she said the following (of course, she first thanked her co-star Bradley Cooper): ‘If I don’t get another chance to say this, I just want to say I’m so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They’re so important. So, if you see somebody that’s hurting, don’t look away.’ Lady Gaga is already known for speaking out about what she stands for and what she thinks, but a vulnerable speech at a big event like the Grammys is definitely next level. A deserving winner, if you ask me.
But then the big question: where was Bradley Cooper? I was all set for a live performance of ‘Shallow’ (I just recovered from the last one), but Mister Cooper wasn't even in the house. He had to report to the BAFTAs. Also not entirely unimportant, of course, although he unfortunately didn't win any awards there (the film A Star Is Born did, for original music – so he can certainly be proud). Can you also not wait for a duet from these two? Then definitely the Oscars not miss out on Sunday, February 24. They are indeed going to perform together then. I already have the tissues ready because I don't know exactly what it is, ‘Shallow’ is a real tearjerker for me. The whole movie A Star Is Born did that for me, by the way, when I think about it.

Performing alone she could also do more than fine, by the way, although opinions were quite divided about that. While she plays the natural beauty Ally in A Star Is Born, she was on stage at the Grammys 100% Gaga. Glittering jumpsuit, weird dance moves, and even the singing itself was no longer recognizable from the film. I half expected her to suddenly launch into ‘Bad Romance’, but unfortunately that wasn't in the cards. It should be clear in any case: the old Lady Gaga is back.
Wtf was lady Gaga doing lol #GrammyAwards

My mom goes “Why is Gaga dancing like that it’s so weird”.
ITS 2019, where have you been the past decade where Lady Gaga was apparently doing normal shit?

Can we now call Lady Gaga the new Queen of Pop? Because honestly: Madonna has been over her musical peak for about ten years now. High time for a successor. Lady Gaga, the stage is yours, as far as I'm concerned. Check the performance for yourself.

Was Lady Gaga the star of the evening? Absolutely. But the other performances are also very worth watching again. I mention, for example, Dolly Parton with Miley Cyrus (you want to see that), Post Malone with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and of course the hostess Alicia Keys who was assisted by none other than Michelle Obama. Just watch the whole show again.
Fun detail: most Grammys this year were not won by Lady Gaga, but by country singer Kacey Musgraves. Who? Yes, exactly, that's what we thought too. She took home no less than four Grammys.
