The most expensive white wine costs you 3,000 euros per sip

This weekend I am in Portugal to dare to try a portion of pasteis de nata in combination with a good glass of white.
The man and I are going out without the kids for a bit and that will be enjoyable. It will be eating, drinking, more drinking, chatting, laughing, crying, and above all: sleeping. Good heavens, how do all new parents do this? How do you function after not one, or two, but 126 nights without sleep?
So we are ready for that city trip together and the sun in Lisbon is lovingly waiting for us. Just like that glass of vino, which I already mentioned, because even there you sometimes really crave it as a new mother, it turns out. By the way, I hope Chateau d’Yquem is not on the menu somewhere, because then I think I would fall over backwards. The bottle is 200 years old and so expensive that you actually can't drink it. The wine comes from Bordeaux and costs you, hold on tight, about 3000 euros per sip.
A bottle of wine consists on average of six glasses and a glass is, if you try a bit, about five generous sips. That brings you to thirty sips per bottle and a price of 91,000 euros for one bottle of wine. Sorry, but I can think of more fun things to do with this money . A small boat for the Amsterdam canals, for example. A trip to New York, Bali, or Ibiza. A little savings for my children. Throwing a huge party for all my friends. On a yacht. In France if necessary, among the vineyards. But drinking that amount? No, thank you. A wine of 6 euros per glass works for me too. And especially if I still feel that Portuguese sun shining: then you have already gotten the greatest fun from that wine on that terrace completely for free.
Have a nice weekend, huh. And pay close attention to the wine list. You don't want to accidentally have to pay for that d’Yquem somewhere.
