The questions we have after watching La Casa de Papel season 3

La Casa de papel season 3 netflix

Good afternoon this afternoon. It is the beginning of a new week, and I can tell you that I really got everything out of my Sunday yesterday. That is to say: everything that was available to watch on Netflix I watched. Just like season 3 of La Casa de Papel (that was only a small part of my Sunday, oops) and I must say: it did not disappoint. It is clear that I was not the only one glued to the screen this season; it has already been viewed over 34 million times. The fact that this season would become a success does not surprise me at all, just as little as the fact that we are already talking about season 4 now. When, how, where? Well, that is still to be seen, but I do have a number of questions that I definitely want answered in season 4. And if you have finished it, these are also your burning questions. Oh yes, in case you haven't noticed: spoilers incoming. I always say it just in case, before I get angry messages.

1. Is [SPOILER] really dead?

By that spoiler, I of course mean Nairobi. Tough ending of the season, I thought. The moment Nairobi looks outside and sees her son and a millisecond later is completely pierced by bullets. But nothing is certain, as in so many series, until you have a real confirmation. And we don't have that yet, so there is still hope for many viewers. I do fear the worst, since the creators already did a dead-or-alive moment in season 2, with Berlin. And he turned out to be completely dead. That could be different now, but my gut feeling is not good. Also because certain people already think that another character is dead (but is very much alive), which brings me to my next point.

2. What happens next with the Professor and Lisbon?

Lisbon is still alive, but as far as the Professor knows, she did not survive. He activates the plan ‘Defcon II’ in season 3. But: is there still a way out? With Lisbon in custody, the web around the Professor seems to be closing in quite a bit. I do have a good feeling about this. I expect a well-thought-out plan from the Professor to get out of this and complete the gang again. I also hope that Lisbon keeps her mouth shut in front of the police. Lisbon ain't no snitch.

3. And what happens next with Rio and Tokyo?

A series naturally also includes romance, and we get that in the form of Rio and Tokyo. Or rather, we did. Rio dumped Tokyo, and well, I understand it. She is a bit impulsive and reckless. Not exactly handy traits for a sly bank robber. Still, the feelings don't seem to have completely faded, and we are treated to a loving glance, after which they blow up a tank together. Ah, romance can be so beautiful, right?

4. Is it really war with the police now?

With the blowing up of the aforementioned tank, you could say that the relationship – if there ever was one – between the police and our robbers has cooled down quite a bit. Well, it is just war. In terms of cliffhanger, La Casa de Papel has done well, we end with the gang that is completely in ruins. A Nairobi who probably does not survive. Surrendering seems to be the only solution in my eyes, but luckily I am not a bank robber. There is a good chance they will come up with some master plan as the opening of season 4. In the meantime, I will put ‘Bella Ciao’ on repeat as waiting music (just like with the previous seasons).
