The small inconveniences are about to begin

In the meantime, I am 26 weeks pregnant and the little discomforts are starting to come back: peeing three times an hour, weird pains in my pelvis, and slight insomnia... But there is still no question of rest, because in the coming weeks, two beautiful baby fairs are planned with Lemej. Despite the heavy days, I am really looking forward to it, because hopefully we can make many mommy-to-be's happy with our nursing shawls. And besides, I can't help but take a little walk myself, which is life-threatening, I'm afraid. This week, the In de Wolken festival is on the agenda, and during the setup this morning, I already saw many cool stands and brands. If you are expecting a little one or there is already a little one running around at home: you definitely don't want to miss this festival. And do come by to say hello at our Lemej stand.

Since I read the book ‘Once We Ate Animals’, I can't shake it off: something needs to happen regarding the size of the meat industry, not only for the suffering of the animals but also for the climate. Fortunately, in Amsterdam, you have a lot of great vegetarian and vegan options, like the new Bardak: they serve the tastiest Tel Aviv street food. And if you don't have an image of that right away, like I do: think of delicious shared plates like Okra, Eggplant, Fried Cauliflower, and Mushroom Shawarma. I couldn't be happier.

Just like for myself, I find it a joy to discover new clothing brands for Otis. Now I can search pretty well, but sometimes it's nice if someone does the searching (especially regarding sizes) for you. That's how I discovered Bundleboon: a personal styling service for kids‘ clothing. You fill out a quiz with all sorts of questions about style, sizes, favorite colors, etc. for your little one, and then a stylist puts together a great package for you. The box is a party to receive: I was really surprised by cool combinations and brands I didn't know yet. The items you don't like or that don't fit well can be easily returned. And I can give you a 10% discount on your first Bundleboon order: use the discount code ’Carolien’. Otis' winter wardrobe is definitely on fleek again.

Many women find it totally uncomfortable to be massaged during their pregnancy, but I would literally want a pregnancy massage every day. And especially these new vegan spa treatments at the AWAY Spa in the W hotel: their latest addition is the Dutch brand The Tides Wellness, which consists of sustainably grown seaweed, herbs, and essential oils, all from the Dutch Wadden Sea. Their new ‘Baby my Belly’ treatment consists of a delicious magnesium scrub, followed by a massage. Oh, since I am saving quite a bit on alcohol and other expenses now, I can definitely make a monthly pit stop at the AWAY Spa, right? Yup, I am the best at justifying purchases, as you read.
