The trailer for Joker is out and it is intense

Mark my words: this will be the movie of 2019. I was already convinced of that, but now that the trailer for Joker has been released, I have no doubt left, you know. It was also a matter of time before the character of the Joker was discovered more, actually. Because how Heath Ledger portrayed him in The Dark Knight, I don't need to tell you that. Brilliant. But when you watch the trailer for this new film, you can hardly come to any other conclusion than that Joaquin Phoenix will also do a pretty good job. I wouldn't even rule out that after this film, we all collectively have understanding for the Joker. It can't get much crazier.
Alright, the trailer. I'm not going to spoil too much because you really should just watch it yourself. I don't know if I'm the only one here, but dark images with old-fashioned music underneath always give me the chills. You guessed it: that's definitely in here too. And that look from Phoenix as the Joker: goosebumps. Plus that little laugh. Brr. What predominates further is a combination of the aforementioned and complete chaos. But that was of course to be expected: ‘Do I really look like a guy with a plan?“
The film tells the story of Arthur Fleck – yes, that is the real name of the Joker – and how he transforms from a mediocre stand-up comedian to a completely deranged psycho, with a lot of bullying, belittling, and fights. This means there is no Batman (the film is made by DC Comics), but there is the city of Gotham. We also get to know at least his mother and I am quite curious about whether we will hear the phrase ‘why so serious?’ come up. And whether one of the many anecdotes told in The Dark Knight is actually true. I won't count on it: the Joker is not the most reliable narrator.
Furthermore, Robert De Niro has a major role in the film, just like the still relatively unknown Zazie Beetz. The film will be released on October 4, 2019, and I can tell you: that's still a lot of nights to sleep. I already feel like I've played the trailer out since I've watched it over 20 times. Oh guys, I am so looking forward to this film. They should release an Oscar for best trailer, this one would win it without a doubt. Although I think those Oscars will be just fine anyway.
