Having a best friend without putting any effort into it: wonderful, such a sister. She is always there, you can have good fights and find each other blood irritating, but you will always remain best buddies. Even when you sometimes hate her. And she hates a lot of you too.

I am truly a privileged person, because I have a sister and a little sister. All three of us are close and actually we resemble each other more than we realize. Of course, we have our own lives and are always busy, and often there is no more time for each other in the week than a quick coffee on the corner, but still. We talk to each other every day, all day long, can complain wonderfully about everything that is going on, and laugh about life. That is worth its weight in gold, if you take a moment to think about it.

I have known for a long time, but having a sister is good for you, it has even been scientifically proven. Because having a sister officially has real benefits. The nice thing is: it doesn't matter what the age difference is between the two of you. Here they come:

• Having a sister is good for your mental health. You can handle problems in life better and according to researchers, you feel less lonely if you have a sister. You would also be less afraid and feel guilty less often.
