This makes you happier than a towering salary

Sounds delicious: a job where you earn so much that you have some left over every month. Euros, that is. Where you have so much left over that you can score one bag after another.
Or order shoes. Or invest in jewelry for yourself. Pants, dresses, makeup, oh well. Yet a high salary doesn't make you as happy as you might think. No. If you're looking for the perfect job or at least for a more enjoyable job than the one you have now, then you better pay attention to something else. And that is: a nice team. A group of people with whom you feel good. Colleagues with whom you are also friends. They don't have to be your best friends. But you really need to be able to be yourself. To laugh, talk, joke around. That ultimately makes you a lot happier and ensures that you stay somewhere much longer. And staying somewhere for a longer time has its advantages. You thus also increase your chances of promotion, to move up somewhere.
Being friends with colleagues really makes you happier, according to science. At least 70 percent of people agree: having friends at work, not feeling alone in a team, that's exactly what makes a job enjoyable. Yet not everyone manages to find that connection at the office: 1 in 10 people has no buddies at work. Very uninviting. We prefer not to have that. And this is also reflected in the numbers: at least 58 percent of people would decline a well-paid job if they wouldn't get nice colleagues with it. You see, we find that fun more important than money. And that's a good thing. We are absolutely right. A fit of laughter is after all priceless. Or at least not worth more than those new sneakers.
Because with money you might buy those bags and shoes every month, but if you have no one to enjoy a nice glass of wine with on Friday afternoon, then that whole sharp outfit is wasted. Keep that in mind when you apply. Do you fit in here, as a type of person? Then go for it wholeheartedly. You won't regret it.
