This might be the best Dutch film right now

For everyone who says that we can't make good movies in the Netherlands: do yourself a favor and go see ‘Instinct’. Now, I think Halina Reijn is one of the very best actresses this country has, but since this film, we also have a fantastic director. And if that title isn't enough: she also produced the film together with Carice. With their production company ‘Man Up’, this golden duo wants to set up projects where the leading roles are reserved for women, hats off! In Halina's debut film, Carice and Marwan (Kenzari) play the lead roles and I am so impressed by their performance: this is the kind of film that keeps you thinking for days.

Just when I started to get a bit annoyed by the increasing cold, it was time for our long-awaited family trip with my mother, sister, and Otis. Five days of 27 degrees and quality time together, the perfect combination. It is so precious to see that both my mother and sister enjoy every move Otis makes and vice versa. Early in the morning, he has to play with his aunt, and on grandma's lap, they read books and watch videos (preferably of himself…). I hope we can make many more of these kinds of trips together: no one can take these memories away from us.

And just like that, switching from summery bare-legged dresses to the autumn looks we can pull out of the closet in the coming weeks. Despite the size of my wardrobe, there are few pants that still fit (a summer child is much easier with big fluttery dresses), so there was nothing else to do but shop for some new items to grow into. Now I try to score outfits that I can still wear after the pregnancy (oversized is definitely my style), so I started browsing brands that I usually like to wear. And that's how I ended up at the beautiful Summum store in the Negen Straatjes and found a to-die-for leather dress that you can also wear as a long blouse, a lovely suit with an elastic band, and this wonderful overcoat in my favorite color of the season: chestnut brown. And next year, when that belly is gone, they can just go back on the shelf.

A few years ago, our dream came true: Jon and I went to see the musical ‘The Book of Mormon’ in London. Like two little kids, we could hardly sleep from excitement, and during the show, we squeezed each other's hands in happiness. And now this award-winning show is coming to the Netherlands. Despite the fact that we've already seen it, we didn't want to miss this chance to check it out again in Carré. After refreshing the website for twenty minutes, I got lucky during the presale and we secured tickets. The musical is playing all month long in October, so if you can magically still get tickets: do yourself a huge favor and go see this.
