Tips from the skin expert for when you just got back from vacation

You probably just grew some freckles on your nose, likely spent more than one day in the sun, and boosted your vitamin D levels significantly. Here comes the next SOS: your skin. Because it's all fun and games with those sun rays, but your face takes a hit. What to do, we wanted to know. That's why I called our skin expert Annelijn van Ierland from Skin Kliniek.
Annelijn's answer was simple and clear: this is the moment for a skin treatment. Don't think that you've been pampered enough at your vacation spot, just take a seat in the chair with the expert. You'll feel better for it.
Summer is the time when those pigmentation spots come out, your skin is a bit drier, and the sun also makes your skin thicker and duller. So you actually think you look good because of that nice color, but when it fades, you're left with the dull and gray leftovers. A peeling is therefore good anyway, but a laser treatment will also help you. This helps with sun damage and pigmentation.
Now you might think: but my acne is less and my skin is nowhere near as restless as before my vacation. That's true, that's true. The sun dries the skin a bit and thus also the impurities and pimples. But once you're back, you'll see them return after a week, the whole impure mess. So this is a temporary effect; the little inflammations get a bit less at first but then actually worse. That's why a visit to the skin therapist is not a luxury.
How can you help your skin right away? It's important to first look at the condition of your skin: if it's a bit drier, definitely apply more. You might see some more dry lines, but that's also easily remedied with a peeling. But the most important thing is, of course, that you shouldn't forget your legs and arms, because they have also endured quite a bit of sun exposure. So grab that body lotion after showering.
Just back from vacation? Then also stop by Annelijn, we'll see you there.
