A week or so ago, I had lunch with Franska (the founder of our big sister Franska.nl) and we were looking for a place somewhere between Amsterdam and Breda that was also a bit cozy. Villa Augustus, Franska immediately said, as she often comes up with the perfect tip. So there she was, in the flower garden. We ate salad with edible flowers, looked at the water tower (you can sleep in there under the nicest linen according to Franska, and the next day you can take a boat trip, they arrange everything for you) and cautiously popped into the shop for a moment. Looking couldn't hurt, we thought.
I left the place with a bouquet of flowers from the garden, soaps for the teachers at school, a small bottle of olive oil, and perhaps the most fun: a notebook with sentences from famous books. Longtemps, je me suis couché de bonne heure from Proust's ‘À la recherche du temps perdu’
for example. I'm a fan. And I will come back for that linen, you understand.
