Tip: the hotel in New York where you want to stay

By
The Hoxton Williamsburg

It already feels like an eternity ago, but a week and a half ago I was still enjoying myself in New York. It was my fourth time there, and each time I fall a little more in love and tell myself I want to live there. For now, that's just pure manifesting, because the prices there are of course really insane. So that's not in the cards for now, but it wasn't really a punishment: I had actually picked a really nice hotel that I want to recommend to you, in case you're going to The Big Apple soon.

For five days, I went with my dad; a little gift for him, in advance for his birthday. Very special to do that just the two of us, but you also choose your hotel differently for that. My father is 75 (although he prefers not to let people know that and you would honestly guess him ten years younger), so the location had to be within a reasonable walking distance from nice restaurants and the subway. The room itself also had to be comfortable enough (I find that very important too), especially the bed: when you have jet lag, you want to be able to sleep well.

Eventually, I ended up at The Hoxton Williamsburg and that was really a hit. The rooms are top-notch, have an amazing view of the New York skyline (that never gets boring; waking up was a party every time), the beds were very high and so comfortable — I really slept wonderfully there.

Another big plus is the two restaurants (and bar) at The Hoxton Williamsburg: upstairs you have a rooftop restaurant, Laser Wolf. Very popular, so definitely reserve a table if you want to eat here, and downstairs you have K’Far Café. Both menus feature Israeli influences with huge portions – well, you are in America, right?. The bar was actually cozy and full every evening, and even during the day, many people were working, playing games, or just having a glass of wine. Really very pleasant.

So if you're looking for a nice tip in New York: this hotel will be my new regular spot. The subway was a five-minute walk, and from there you were in Lower Manhattan in ten minutes. Ideal.
