Look, this is fun: something for the to-do list towards my hometown. So what to do, now that the sun is leaving us as we head into the weekend? A visit to The Hague where the Fotomuseum (part of the Gemeentemuseum) is currently (until May 12) showcasing an exhibition and a tribute to one of our favorite photographers: Erwin Olaf. The photographer who stole the show last year with his portraits of the royal family turns sixty this year and that calls for a party.
The Fotomuseum zooms in on Olaf's work, which evolved from an analog photojournalist to a digital image maker and storyteller. Oh, and Erwin Olaf is also showcasing his never-before-seen series Palm Springs, where photography is presented in combination with film, sound, and sculpture. A typical case of ‘let the rain come so we can spend the whole day sheltering in the Gemeentemuseum’.
