A very good morning from Paris. As I float through the streets of Le Marais, devouring one macaron after another and the streets gradually filling up with the best-dressed fashion people in the country, Paris Fashion Week day two awakens just as we are used to from the city of love. This afternoon, one of our favorite shows, Christian Dior, is on the runway schedule, and you understand: team Amayzine is in attendance, ready to take the Thalys back to Amsterdam tonight.
Next stop? London. Again for a hefty dose of macarons, fashion people and Christian Dior. Huh? Do you still get it? We are going (or at least, that’s my plan) as true fans of the French fashion house to have tea at the recently opened Dior café in Prêt-à-Portea at the London hotel The Berkeley. The menu is entirely inspired by the iconic designs of Christian Dior. Cookies in the shape of the ’Bar‘ jacket and the J’adior pump, pastries à la the Miss Dior perfume, a red velvet cake in the style of the Lady Dior handbag, and even the tea and coffee are Dior-themed, with for example the fashion house's logo written in the foam of your cappuccino.
Are you in? The Dior café in hotel The Berkeley is open every day from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The high tea costs you 58 pounds (approximately 66 euros) per person. It costs something, but your Instagram feed will be forever grateful, you understand. Reservations can be made via Prêt-à-Portea on the website of The Berkeley London.
