Once upon a time there was a girl who loved French cuisine. Escargots, steak tartare, coq au vin, tarte tatin, crème brûlée; whatever you come up with, my ratatouille cake wags its tail. That same girl then went out to dinner with her love at Le Garage, the iconic restaurant of the late Joop. The place I had never been to. The place that surprised me intensely. The place where I chose the catch of the day. The mussels in curry sauce that were oh so delicious. A particularly special place, with a slightly kitschy interior, but still tasteful. The restaurant with the best service ever. The restaurant with the cheese cart on wheels. The restaurant with sommelier Erwin who completes your entire evening. If you are still looking for a restaurant for a night out with the girls, a dinner with your sister, boyfriend, girlfriend, lover, colleagues, whatever: the revamped Le Garage is where you want to park your butt, to stay in car terms. Buckle up for a trip down France. En route!
