Today we.. Read A book by a friend ‘In and out of Vogue'

Admittedly: for the author in question, this is not a friendly act, but for the environment (paper, paper) it is. Reading a book by a friend is enjoyable for several reasons. First of all, it is curated by her and she has taste because she is your friend, after all. Moreover, she knows your taste, so there is a 99% chance that this book is exactly what you were in the mood for. Furthermore, it is nice that you can discuss passages that touched you, things that occupied your mind, unexpected plotlines, and your interpretations of the open ending. I also find it a cozy idea that the book in question has traveled with your friend for a while and now with you.

At the moment I am reading a book that I received from Peggy Weijergang ‘In and out of Vogue’ by Grace Mirabella, the woman who ran Vogue US for seventeen years under Anna Wintour and was quite brutally fired (she heard it from her husband who heard someone mention it on a talk show).

Aside from the delightful stories from the old Vogue, I enjoy the sentences that Peggy has underlined and the little notes she made in the margins. You are a fashion editor or you are not, I would say.

Keep reading, for each other and from each other. And if we keep buying a lot, that author will be happy again too.
