Suddenly I saw the golden letters on Anna's Instagram: My Body Is Mine. She wondered where the bizarre habit of bringing women down came from. Once. Sometimes I rant about the shortsighted callers in the morning show on 538, about how they think and talk about women, I want to pull people through Instagram for what they write and I'm glad there are women who just say or do it anyway.
It was the very first charity I supported, I think I was 19 when I gave my bank authorization for the direct debit to Mama Cash. It wasn't much, because I had just moved out on my own in Amsterdam, lived off my part-time job and the IB, but it was symbolic. Mama Cash was already working for an equal world for every woman, which I found important, and they might be doing that more than ever today. So when I saw at Anna Nooshin that #MyBodyIsMine is a campaign from Mama Cash, I felt just that little bit extra proud. You can support them too, because your body is yours and #MyBodyIsMine.
