What you need to see at the Parade

Last weekend I went to London with my Bouillabaisse colleagues for research and it was definitely not a punishment. Actually, the whole trip was planned around ‘Secret Cinema’ (a FAN-TAS-TIC immersive theatre/film experience that you must not miss when visiting London), but secretly the weekend was all about a lot of delicious food. My tips? Brother Marcus and Farm Girl for breakfast or lunch, Nopi (you know, that delicious book by Ottolenghi) and Dishoom Shoreditch for dinner and Sketch for drinks. I need to go back soon to try out all the other tips, because that list is still endlessly long.

I get so happy from friends who chase their dreams, especially when they dare to give up everything to do that one thing that secretly makes them the happiest. Shanti often sat in front of me during an audition, but she stopped to create her own jewelry line and voilà: Shanti Jewels is now a reality. Beautiful gold-plated items and gemstones that immediately make me greedy. This pair of earrings went straight home with me.

Although the weather forecasts are completely rubbish, it is absolutely worth braving the rain to go to Martin Luther King Park: there you will find the Parade in the coming weeks, a delightful festival full of cool performances, food stalls, and live music. Yesterday I put on my raincoat and matching boots to go to the show ‘3 lesbians and a talk show’ and believe me: if you have nothing planned for tonight, put on your rain boots and go to this hilarious show that is only showing tonight. But don't be sad: starting tomorrow there will be a series of new performances at the Parade to enjoy.

I am not at all done with summer yet, but looking at the forecasts, it seems to be a bit the case... One advantage: everyone can focus on the winter collections again. And now that no pants fit me anymore, I have a very clear goal this season: find cool items that are not necessarily maternity but have enough stretch so they grow with me. Luckily, my sizes in accessories remain the same, so that search is not such a challenge. Demure Amsterdam, my favorite shop for beautiful hats, has just launched its new collection and I couldn't help but take a look. The damage: this tweed cap, which makes me long for autumn in one go.
