19x what you think after a night without sleep

Woman confused in bed

The heat. Two babies. A frisky cat. A hungry cat. A cat that brings a mouse. Your night can sometimes go completely differently than you had hoped.

If you haven't slept well, you're certainly not alone. At least 10 percent of the Dutch suffer from insomnia. And even more people have another type of sleep problem: 32 percent of the Dutch. Staring at the ceiling while you're exhausted, there are more enjoyable things to think about.

And so you wake up and feel more broken than broken without having had a drop of alcohol. Not sleeping is not good for a person. You must have noticed that yourself at some point.

But this is what you think when you wake up after a night without sleep:

1. Christ, is this my alarm? Now?! It's the middle of the night!
2. Oh no, god, it's already eight o'clock.
3. But finally I was sleeping. I thought. For a moment.
4. Shower, wake up.
5. Too bad, it doesn't help. Coffee then.
6. Doesn't help either. More coffee. More.
7. Brushing hair? No energy for that. Tomorrow will do.
8. I feel nauseous and crave a cheese sandwich. Or a croquette.
9. Let's see if I can order from Van Dobben somewhere. I really don't have the energy to go out.
10. I wish I had drunk wine yesterday. Then I would probably have felt just as broken.
11. Alright, I'll comb my hair.
12. Where is that cat? Meowing next to my bed last night and now nowhere to be found.
13. I'm really not going to look for it, no energy.
14. Damn it, okay, I'm going already. That sandwich can wait.
15. Can I go to bed already? A nap please? Is that possible?
16. No Netflix tonight. I want to sleep. Just sleep.
17. Ah, there is the cat. Thank goodness. Come here. Let's lie on the bed together for a bit.
18. Oh yes, right, I was supposed to have lunch with that friend today. How bad is it if I cancel now? Very bad?
19. I'll go. Who knows, they might have croquette sandwiches. And more coffee.
