So you've been doing this wrong for years

beauty tips brushes and makeup woman model backstage fashion show

Did you just spend a fortune on a beautiful makeup brush with real hair that's so soft you want to stroke it across your face all the time? Then you probably place it in a Pinterest-worthy container as if you're arranging the last flower from your Bloomon bouquet in the vase. I would do that, right? But ten years ago, I got the tip from a makeup artist at M.A.C that I should stop doing this immediately. ‘Do you want to use that brush for years? Loosen the container and store your brushes flat in your cabinet, dry and dark.’

But how does that work? If you store your brushes standing up, gravity will pull on them and your brushes will splay out. We definitely don't want that. My brushes have been lying flat for ten years and look like I bought them last week. Oh yes, don't forget to give them a nice wash with baby shampoo once a week. You wash your hair a few times a week to keep it looking fresh, right? And not only that: your brushes are full of bacteria, and you apply that to your face every day. Maybe this is the reason for all the imperfections? I know what you're going to do tonight.
