Your drunk personality is therefore your true personality

If you've just had that one drink too many, then you can do several things. Ramble about the meaning of life, chat nonsense with half the pub, cry, or maybe even flirt unabashedly.
Whatever you do, it suits you. And even if you sometimes feel ashamed after a night of partying, of which you only remember half... Sorry. Because your drunken behavior is really you. Your tipsy personality is your true personality. Research, in which people were allowed to drink in the name of science, shows that people who were drunk felt they were very different when they had a drink. During the study, 156 participants had to describe their own personality: drunk and sober. They thought they became very different people when they were drunk. But the people who hadn't been drinking thought the difference in behavior was not that significant. They found that the drinkers just acted a bit more exaggerated, but didn't become completely different types. Certain qualities or less favorable traits often just become a bit more intense with a belly full of Chardo. Mais c’est ça.
What the thirsty participants experienced, however, was that everyone who drank a lot became more extroverted. That's just what alcohol does to your brain: those parts where you have your inhibitions, those brain areas that help control your impulses, well, they become a bit looser. Suddenly you dare to shout and say anything. You dare to dance on the table. But that doesn't change the fact that that's what you would always want to say or do, even in a sober state.. Secretly, you'd also quite like to climb on that table when you're stone-cold sober. In short: you're just yourself, but a bit bolder, perhaps a bit more extreme, but definitely how you've always been.
According to psychologists, alcohol does less to you than you realize. Or hope, perhaps. Because even when participants thought they were drinking alcohol but were secretly just served non-alcoholic drinks, they behaved more exuberantly. They just went along with the group, the group that really got tipsy. This is due to social cohesion: automatically joining in with the rest.
Well, in any case, cheers, and be happy with who you are, because you can't really change yourself by having a glass of wine. And if you're reading this, then there are on average about one million people drunk worldwide. Yes, at this moment. All of whom think they can dance on tables, but can actually do that just as well sober.
