What does Beyoncé earn for an Insta post? How rich is Enzo Knol actually? What is the most viewed video on YouTube? And um, sorry, but did you expect this to be the most followed Instagram account? Time for social media facts on this rainy mweh Sunday. Here it comes.

1. Per. Day. More. Than. 95,000,000. Photos. Are. Posted. On. Instagram.

2. Oh, and speaking of Insta: who has the most followers ever? I didn't see that one coming. How about Instagram itself? 349 million followers, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo (220 million) and Ariana Grande (186 million).

3. Wow. In 2015, more people died from taking a selfie than from shark attacks.

4. Beyoncé easily asks for 600,000 dollars for one photo on Instagram. SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE. WTF. (That's nothing compared to Kylie Jenner, who can easily ask for a million.)

5. TikTok started in China. Yes, unlike Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube, which are all based in America. So, if you've come across an article stating that the US is trying to ban TikTok, now you know why.
Of course, America is doing its utmost to prevent a Chinese social media platform from growing massively worldwide. But it’s too late now…

6. In the evening, Pinterest is used more than during the rest of the day.

7. Goodness. Social media pushed through to the number 1 position as a pastime on the internet about ten years ago. For years, that title was reserved for… porn. No shit.

8. If Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest country in the world by population, after China.

9. Last year, someone calculated that Enzo Knol has earned around 4 million euros in total. 2.2 million from YouTube and the rest from commercial deals and his own merchandise. Add to that that his living expenses and investment in (household) products are low due to sponsorship (think of vlog cameras, travel, fridge, washing machine, motorcycle, his studio, microphones, screens, lalala). His biggest expense? The Tax Authorities!

10. The most viewed and most liked video on YouTube is Despacito by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee with 6.77 billion+ views since January 2017 (!) Okay. Heavy. Almost seven billion views in just over three years = absurd.
