Brilliant: Danish supermarket has the perfect trick against hoarders

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the foodies of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: the perfect trick against hoarders.
We can say it a thousand times: do not hoard. Yet people keep doing it. Not only in the Netherlands, but all over the world. Except in a Danish supermarket, where they know how to stop it with a brilliant trick.
While supermarkets normally advertise in big letters with promotions like ‘2 FOR 1’, in supermarket Meny in Hellerup (near Copenhagen) they completely turn that principle around.
‘Would you like to pay by card or cash?’
One bottle of hand sanitizer costs 40 kroner (€5.50). Want a second? Then that will be 1000 kroner (€134.00) extra per bottle please.
A supermarket in Denmark got tired of people hoarding hand sanitizer, so came up with their own way of stopping it.

Hoarders had – just like in many Dutch supermarkets – gone completely wild in the supermarket last weekend. Onions, flour, toilet paper, cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer: it was all gone.
So store manager Rasmus Vejbaek-Zerr came up with this action. “I do it to hold up a mirror to people and make them think before they fill their shopping cart,” he says.
Anti-hoarding actions in the Netherlands
In the Netherlands, we haven't seen such an action yet. However, singer and foodie Thomas Acda set up an action with ‘his’ Jumbo to ensure that the elderly and caregivers also have enough groceries.
Jumbo stated that everyone is free to set up such an action with their supermarket, but that they do not organize it nationally because they – once again due to all those hoarders – are too busy ensuring the supply runs smoothly.
So guys, once again:
