If you've just moved, it's hard to see who could use an extra hand in the street. I saw friends putting notes in neighbors' mailboxes to offer some extra help. I want to do that too, but I'm not sure who to help, and after a week of working with a view of the street, I still don't know. As far as I can tell, the people in our apartment block are quite mobile. The sixty-year-old lady across the street walks me out with her dog, and I estimate that she's better at baking banana bread because I'm not much of a bread baker myself. That's why I call my grandparents, check in the supermarket (at a distance of one and a half meters) if there are elderly people who could use help, and I stay inside as much as possible for the people in care. Meanwhile, my brother came up with the solution: that I just had to help myself with Ready2Help from the Red Cross. You fill in your name, age, and place of residence, and they see if (and when) they can use your help. I already got the first tip from them: pay attention to the people around you. I take my home workspace with a view of the street again, as you understand.
