Carolien hopes this will still exist after the intelligent lockdown

As we speak, Jon is in Tilburg shooting the first Distancing film for Pathé Thuis, so cool! But that also means: three days and three nights alone at home with two kids... By now, I've gotten so used to the four of us being at home that this is quite a shift. Jon usually takes the early morning shift, while Elias is drinking, and interrupting that poor guy because Otis needs to go to the bathroom and Otis is calling for attention just when that little one has huge cramps and needs to be comforted. Of course, there are many moms who often (or even permanently) have to do it alone: a lot of respect for you! Everything will be fine here, although I do know that I will stay in bed extra long on Saturday while Jon takes that morning shift again.

I have completely found my new calling in crafting. All the crazy ideas that normally stay in my head, I am now executing under the guise of ‘Quarantine Crafting with Carolien’. I found a box filled with buttons, beads, and strings that I once wanted to do something with, and they are now coming in handy! This week, I am using pearls that I have been carrying around for 15 (!) years. Tonight you can check the final result on my IGTV. Here’s a sneak peek of what I am going to make.

My Lemej companion texts me with bad news: India is in lockdown for another two weeks... Of course, everyone's health comes first, but our new collection keeps getting postponed... Fortunately, we are not the only company dealing with this, and I hope for some extra patience from our customers. We already had some samples in, so in the meantime, I am happily testing those.

One email after another comes in from my favorite restaurants that have put together a take-away menu. I was doing so well with cooking for myself, but the temptation is getting really big now... Besides our weekly quarantine date, I catch myself ordering take-away at least one more time a week. On my list are: Ron Gastrobar with a delicious Indonesian rice table, The Harbour Club, and Izakaya. In that regard, the lockdown can last a few more weeks... No, even better: hopefully, those take-away menus will exist a little longer. Because with those two little ones, it's ideal to be able to ‘go out to eat’ at home.
