Corona cravings: these items are suddenly being ordered online by everyone

With today officially being the very first day of spring, you would think that floral dresses, garden chairs and self-tanners would be flying off the shelves, but nothing could be further from the truth. The coronavirus, home isolation, and everything in between keeps us occupied with very different matters. Safety first, that’s what it’s all about now. The sale of cleaning supplies has increased by 55 percent, and digital thermometers, first aid products, and dietary supplements are more popular than ever. Totally logical, of course. But guess what? There are many more items that the Netherlands is feeling a strong urge to shop for. From fitness weights to sofas and much more fun stuff: these are the most ordered corona cravings from our country.

1. Indoor lighting
Now that we spend most of our time indoors, we might as well make it extra comfy with a mood light on the right and the workspace on the left.

2. Weights 
Fitness weights are more popular than ever. Well, if the gym suddenly closes, we all want to work on our muscles, you understand.

3. Jackets
And when we do go outside, we do it in our latest purchase.

4. DIY accessories
That’s the spirit. We finally have time to assemble that one cabinet, hang up a light, or paint a wall.

5. Sneakers
And preferably one of these white sneakers that you want to spend the summer in the most.

6. Mobile phones
I especially hope for the lonely elderly who are currently having a harder time receiving visitors, but it will surely also have something to do with the massive remote working, I guess.

7. Sofas
I find it very funny. A new sofa because you’re going to use it a lot in the coming time and that sagging piece can no longer be ignored.

8. Puzzles
