Creators of the Fyre Festival doc come with bizarre Netflix acquisition

Yes, it was the greatest party… That never happened. That it ultimately never took place was only better for us, because we got a docu in return that was truly a treat. What a disgrace, that festival. What Ja Rule and Billy McFarland were thinking, I still wonder. How on earth can you think that this festival would ever be more than just adequate? I understand everything about the six-point culture, but this was doomed to never score above a one. By the way, McFarland got quite a hefty sentence for it: in 2018 he was sentenced to six years in prison. Ja Rule is still rapping (or well, what he does is more like shouting) happily as a free man. No one listens to him, but okay.
But that documentary clearly whetted the appetite for more for the creators, and good news: they are still diving into the most bizarre stories. This time it's the turn of Joseph Maldonado-Passage, but you can forget that difficult name right away. He is better known as Joe Exotic. And that Joe Exotic is also known as Tiger King. Are you still following?
In 2011 he was already followed for a documentary by Louis Theroux. Mister Exotic ran his own zoo in Oklahoma and was, to put it mildly, a striking, flamboyant figure. He also made a political bid for the governorship of Oklahoma and even wanted to become president on a blue Monday. That clearly didn't work out.
Why it is now worth a new docu is quite grim. In 2019 he went after his animals and ended up behind bars himself. He was secretly preparing a murder on an employee of Big Cat Rescue Wildlife Sanctuary. You can probably tell from that name that they don't quite agree with running a zoo. Wild animals, the name says it all a bit, belong to live in the wild and without bars. Well, actually I quite agree with that (I'm not really a zoo lover).
But it gets even grimmer. Besides the fact that he wanted to eliminate Carole Baskin from this organization, it turned out he wasn't the best zookeeper either. In January of this year, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison, also for killing tigers and selling tiger cubs. Say whut? That man is perfectly fine behind the bars of his own zoo, as far as I'm concerned. Toodaloo. But this is definitely going to be a bizarre docu, mark my words. It's called Tiger King and it premieres on March 20 on Netflix.
