Download the Houseparty app for a quarantineparty

Some people are not very strict about it, others are, but that whole ‘social distancing’ is everyone doing to some extent, right? I'm in selfquarantine (because: corona symptoms) since Sunday and I must say: I don't like it at all. Boring. The walls are closing in on me. And I live in Amsterdam where those walls don't take up very many square meters. But from girlfriends who still go to the supermarket, I hear that everyone is being reminded to keep that one and a half meters distance and that actually most people are very consciously dealing with it.
But well, overall that whole situation is just really bad. Shit. We as humans are just social animals (at least I think so) and personally, I don't feel happy at all if I don't see anyone for days. Now I was a bit cheered up yesterday by some friends who introduced me to the Houseparty app. The name says it all a bit: a party, each in their own house. An app that was released in 2016, but now during the corona time is really going to become huge and booming, I guess.
Because in this app you can video call with up to six people at the same time, which is very nice. Facetime via WhatsApp is also possible, but I often have some connection errors with that and we don't want that of course. And a big plus: you can play games via Houseparty. Draw Something, Trivia, Chips and Guac (I still need to try that out) and Heads Up (a kind of Who Am I). Enough entertainment for a few hours.
So you understand that I already have several call appointments tonight, game appointments and so on. I felt a lot more cheerful last night after seeing five happy faces of my friends. So if you're also working from home, in self-quarantine or really feeling unwell: this is the app for you. Soloparty in your osso.
