10 unnecessary ridiculous facts about losing weight

Time to gather some myths and facts about losing weight. ‘Cause we’re gonna need it these days. Joejoe.

1. To burn off one Easter egg, you need to move quite a bit. Namely: ten minutes of walking, eight minutes of cycling, five minutes of running, twenty-five minutes of standing behind a desk, or twenty minutes of standing. Hmm. And to think that I usually eat, uh, three. I think. Okay, six.

6. If you eat after 8 PM, you gain weight faster... Fact or myth? Well, look, your body doesn't think at 8 PM: I'm not doing anything anymore. But if you snack in the evening, there's a good chance you'll eat more than necessary. The temptation to overeat can be greater in the evening. When you’re tired, temptations are harder to resist. The chance that you gain weight is indeed present.

7. In the dark, you not only sleep better, but it's also good for your figure. Research shows that women who fall asleep with the light or TV on gain five kilos five years later. Just saying.

8. Fat in your body consists of about fifty trillion cells. In cell form, fat lives on average for about ten years. Wow.

10. People buy food faster if it is healthy – or seems healthy. Producers therefore do their utmost to make their packaging look as ‘healthy’ as possible. Lots of pictures of fruit and whole grains, even if there’s only two percent fruit in it. Phrases like ‘naturally sweetened!’ that have no substantive value – fruit sugar is also ‘natural’.
