I watched The Masked Singer for the first time and: wow

You should know that I am a Mattie-and-Marieke listener. Now that I can't go through things in the car or at a coffee machine in the morning, their morning show is my support and refuge on days at home. I read the newspaper, drink my coffee, and listen with one ear to what has happened in the world. Last week and the week before that it was: The Masked Singer. Yes, your world does get smaller in lockdown light.

I had seen exactly zero seconds of the program, so I went into the radio discussion quite unprepared. One half shouted very loudly that Marieke was the chameleon, the other half absolutely heard the astronaut in Mattie. I had no clue what they meant, until of course a sound fragment was played and holy guacamole: we have a singing Mattie Valk here, boys and girls. Aside from the costume, aside from the program, this is the voice of my morning radio. Yes Valk, you can convince me even more.

By the way, it was the bosom of the chameleon that could possibly indicate that it was Marieke, according to the viewing children and Carlo. I thought: bosom, bosom, is that really your best clue to guess who is in a costume? Until last Friday when I turned on the TV and connected the bosom of the beautiful chameleon to Miljuschka myself. Had nothing to do with the voice, also little with the hints, but I purely went by the facade of a blue, glittering chameleon. What can I say? You go quite fast in the program.

I also find the duos so delightful. Loretta's laugh, Carlo's exclamations, Joling's giggles, and Buddy, whom I don't know further, but I find him also absolutely suitable. Add Ruben, who finds exactly the middle ground between facial expressions and making inappropriate comments to a stranger in a costume, and voilà: I watch everything back and miss no show anymore. Honestly, isn't this just old-fashioned Friday night entertainment? I love it.

Unfortunately, the astronaut did not make an appearance during my first time watching The Masked Singer and he was not voted out either, because Marieke has solemnly promised that she will stop with the program if Mattie is not in that costume. And I understand that. I listen from seven to ten to Mattie, and if that Valk is not in that astronaut costume, then I will also stop with the program, Marieke.

P.S.: By the way, how much do we bet that Najib Amhali is in the zebra costume?
