Say Paris and you have me. I still remember the first time I came here and how happy I was that we have something so rare and beautiful just a five-hour drive away from us. When we once moved from Utrecht to Zeeland and everyone reacted as if our whole family had infected itself with an incurable virus, my mother responded with the words: “Zeeland is so wonderfully close to Paris.” And then everyone was silent.

In this corona time, Paris has taken on even more mythical proportions because you can't just jump on the Thalys to ‘quickly’ go to the Louvre. That's why I sip the Café de Flor CD and feel happy with a cup of Marriage Frères tea. A while ago, Renée Koudstaal asked me to provide a quote about the Parisienne for her book; Live like a Parisienne. And last week, the final result arrived in the most beautiful box imaginable, with a fantastic French scented candle. The book is a great call from the most beautiful city in the world to go there. But as long as that is not possible, we bring Paris into our home.
