If you suddenly use AirPods, then you think this

I still remember that our Annabelle was the first to walk around with AirPods last year and that we made jokes about it. Something about toothbrushes in her ears and such. But suddenly everyone is preaching the gospel of AirPods and I just had to have them too. It must have something to do with professional deformation, but when I finally gave in, I wanted the newest and most advanced ones right away, so when our Wieke was in New York, I whispered to her to bring me a pair of noise cancelling AirPods. They are completely sold out here. Assuming that I am overjoyed, I also notice all kinds of patterns. Maybe you recognize them.

1. You don't feel like chatting on the street
On Sunday morning, I walked through the woods with my dog and to combat a winter depression, I turned on Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder. That helped, I was almost dancing through the woods, but when I encountered a fellow dog owner, I especially didn't want to make small talk about dogs or the weather, but just wanted to keep walking and stay in my bubble. I did say good morning (probably way too loud because that noise cancelling works like a charm so you have no notion of a normal volume level), but otherwise I breathed in everything: and now get lost, nothing comes between me and my AirPods.

2. I have an extra worry
Where are my AirPods? Are they charged? Do I have them in the right ear? Are they going to fall out? Those kinds of things...

3. People think you're completely crazy
Because they don't see the AirPods (especially mine are really small) so they think you're just chatting into thin air because there's no phone nearby or any other person to be seen.

4. People start a conversation anyway
While you're already on the phone. But they don't see that.

5. I'm afraid of theft
Now I don't want to give anyone ideas, but how easy is it to walk past me and just pop an AirPod out of each ear? Buy a charging case and you're done.
