Sometimes I scroll through Instagram… Okay, let’s rewind and be honest: often I scroll through Instagram and wonder why on earth I follow someone. Or not even someone but it, because apparently I mindlessly tap follow. So I have to unfollow all those pointless things every now and then, because then extreme timeline pollution occurs. Because the person behind Instagram (Facebook yes) understands that we like to unfollow, we get an update in which they are going to help us. This feature shows you in one go which accounts you have had little to no interaction with in the past three months. After which you can, hupsakee, remove or mute them in no time. That is the hypocritical version of unfollowing, because then you still follow but no longer get updates in your timeline. “We want to make it easier to manage the accounts you follow on Instagram, so that they best represent your current connections and interests,” says the spokesperson for the platform.
