It happens on a large scale: the ‘corona excuse’ to get out of appointments

Such an appointment that just doesn't come at a good time? Oh, but then you just say that you have corona symptoms and stay home ‘just to be safe’? At least, that's what over 27 percent of Dutch youth think. Acties.nl conducted research and concluded: the pandemic is being used quite a bit as an excuse to get out of appointments.

Young people appear to be not only less reserved with a ‘corona excuse for the best’, but it also turns out that they have reported themselves sick more often unjustly during the corona crisis. And, while they are actually the most inclined to go out with cold symptoms. As many as seventeen percent of the respondents say they have visited the hospitality industry in the past six months with a sore throat and/or runny nose. A quarter of them even visits family members with this.

And before you think: yes, but are the young people now to blame for everything? They filled in the answers themselves, you know. The research also shows that of all Dutch people, young people care the least about quarantine rules. As many as one eighth of them say they did not go into quarantine in the past six months, even though it was actually necessary. Aah, okay. Talking about smart…
