Love is Blind fans, pay attention: Netflix is coming out with a new reality show

I was so happy that Love is Blind is coming with a second season – I still am, by the way, we have to wait much less long. Not for that second season, but Netflix must have realized that dating shows are super hot, so it makes sense that they are quickly coming out with a new series in the same category but with a slightly different format. Exactly the opposite of Love is Blind actually, now that I think about it.
Too Hot To Handle is going to be the name of the series, and the biggest difference is that the contestants can see each other from the start. There is one gigantic catch, though: they are not allowed to touch each other. Holding hands is still allowed, but everything from kissing is forbidden. Points are collected there in a large tropical villa by the beach. Why would you sign up for this? I believe the contestants themselves don’t really know anymore, they only find out upon arrival that physical contact is strictly prohibited.
Another big difference with Love is Blind is the type of people. These are referred to as ‘serial swipers’ in the trailer, and they do look a bit like what I expect serial swipers to look like. They are British and the Geordie Shore content is quite noticeable, let’s just leave it at that. But hey, Geordie Shore is also known for going completely wild and being quite vulgar, so I’m guessing we’re going to do that here too. In any case, there’s already enough toasting in the trailer, so the partying and flirting should be just fine. And the frustrations will probably run high as well. YAY.
The idea is to let these serial swipers build an emotional bond with each other, instead of a physical one. And that’s going to be a lot easier when you know you can walk away with the prize of $100,000. ‘All you gotta do is keep your pants on’ is what they say, that should be doable for such a chunk of money? So I think it’s going to be quite challenging for this group. Especially with enough alcohol involved. Usually, people take the rules a bit less seriously then.
Yes, and so the very best news? Really save the best for last, because this series will be online on April 17. That’s this Friday. THIS Friday. Hallelujah. And I was already afraid that I had finished all my series. Nope. Too Hot To Handle, bring it on.
