Must visit: the Múlafossur in Gásadalur

Maybe you'd rather stay home or who knows, you booked your trip in a nanosecond when Rutte issued code yellow. Whatever your destination is, it's allowed to dream of a bucket list and to fill it up significantly. How about an insane waterfall that very few people have seen in real life? Yes, that immediately warmed me up too.
Now that I've started walking, I obviously begin to overestimate myself disproportionately. So when someone mentioned Múlafossur and also mentioned that you can make a nice hike via the village of Gásadalur on the island of Vágar, which belongs to the Faroe Islands, I was hooked. In real life, I'm going for a safe trip to a slightly southern island that I know well, but I'm not averse to daydreaming about unpaved paths and roaring waterfalls.
In the meantime, you can also reach the 30-meter-high waterfall that flows into the ocean by car, but I just ignore that fact. Walking over mountains sounded so poetic to me. If you're not much of a hiker, these days you can also see the waterfall via a tunnel and parking lot or take a short walk from the village of Gásadalur. The name already sounds so Lord-of-the-Rings that I would do this anyway. It is said that the serene peace makes you want to stay longer in this place, so it's advisable to bring food, drinks, and a raincoat. Even on a sunny day, the weather can change quickly here.
Another tip for the runners among us: every September there is a half marathon on the island of Vágar and this is said to be one of the most legendary in the world.
