Oh no: Chrissy Teigen is quitting social media

Ho, STOP. I don't use Twitter myself and hardly read it, but my only reason to do so has also disappeared. Chrissy Teigen, also known as the Queen of Twitter (yes, I said it), is taking a break from social media. And I'm actually quite disappointed in her, because Chrissy is known for her clapbacks (and her envy towards Trump), but it now seems a bit like she's letting herself be silenced.

And this is happening because of Alison Roman, a name I honestly had never heard of, but she apparently has a number of cookbooks to her name. And she is now mainly known for expressing quite a bit of criticism on Chrissy Teigen's food business. That didn't sit well with Chrissy's fans, who then massively attacked Roman. However, that apparently didn't last long.

‘This is what always happens. The first day, a ton of support, then the next, 1 million reasons as to why you deserved this. It never fails,’ Chrissy wrote on Twitter last weekend. Afterwards, she wrote that people were attacking her children, set her Twitter account to private, and announced a social media break. That escalated quickly, to put it mildly.

What caused this whole social media stop? ‘Like, what Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her. That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that. But like, who’s laughing now? Because she’s making a ton of f–ing money.’ Those were the ‘harsh’ criticisms from Alison Roman that made Chrissy completely done with it. Am I the only one who doesn't see the problem like that? She’s still earning a shitload of money?

Anyway, that criticism was completely misplaced. Alison Roman has since apologized, because this was of course not the intention. Yes, all fun and games… But Chrissy is nowhere to be found on Twitter anymore and Instagram (she hasn't posted any new Stories since this happened). Shall we just forget about it and move on? Seems best for everyone.
