Former employees are tearing Ellen DeGeneres apart: ‘She is very mean’

Ellen DeGeneres mean to staff

Oh no. Oh gosh. Some things you just have to want to believe. Not want to know. Especially not when it’s about your bestie. You see. I wanted to ignore it, but now that it’s being shared in the Amayzine group chat, I can’t avoid it anymore: there is a rumour about our lovely Ellen. Apparently, she is not so lovely at all. In fact: she is being called unbearable. It all started with a tweet from American comedian Kevin T. Porter.

Mr. Porter states that ‘we all need a little kindness right now.’ ‘You know, like Ellen DeGeneres always talks about!’ The comedian then takes a jab. ‘Because she is also notorious for being one of the meanest people. Respond to this with the most insane stories you’ve heard about Ellen, and I will donate $2 to food banks for every response.’

Kevin's call went viral in no time. It didn’t take long for various people to share their so-called ‘horrible experiences,’ including quite a few of Ellen’s employees who called out her ‘ridiculous rules’ on set. A summary of the rumors mentioned?

1. Ellen is said to have a sensitive nose and sends her staff home if she thinks they ‘smell’ or ‘don’t have gum in their mouth’ before talking to her.

2. Employees would be the first to hear that ‘Ellen chooses someone else to hate every day.’ ‘It’s not your fault, just endure it for a day and tomorrow she’ll be mean to someone else.’

3. She is said to have kicked employees out if she thought their nail polish wasn’t done accurately.

4. Another wrote: ‘I was her personal assistant for a Letterman Special. Her list of demands was 50 items long. One of them was a vegetarian type of cauliflower chips that are rarely sold, so I had to drive to 15 different supermarkets to find them. While she never touched those cauliflower chips later.’

5. Also came in: ‘I was her manager for a year. The first thing I learned is that if I had another client on the line, I had to say there was an emergency with my kids, which allowed me to hang up and get her on the phone. Ellen never wanted to be called back, otherwise you were fired.’

6. Just like: ‘My friend wrote for the Ellen Show for two years and told me that Ellen didn’t greet her once. In fact, the staff was told they weren’t even allowed to talk to her.’

I’ll spare you the rest, but the list is long.

Ellen, I still luv you. Tell me it’s not true.
