On this date, Riverdale returns

If you thought that Pretty Little Liars held the crown for ‘WTF-is-happening-here’ levels, think again. Riverdale took that title somewhere last season (or maybe even the season before). Riverdale is all over the place and I love it. Flying babies over a campfire, a sixteen-year-old boy wrongfully imprisoned for murder who then joins an underground fight club, a high school where murdered students keep turning up... And don't forget the underage girl who runs a speakeasy and has her own whiskey brand. Oookeee... Welcome to Riverdale.
Thanks to corona, the filming of this series was also halted and they couldn't even shoot the last four episodes. As a result, the cliffhanger of season 4 wasn't actually the cliffhanger. So when season 5 starts, the first four episodes are actually still from the previous season... Do you get it? It basically means that at the beginning of the newest season we immediately get a cliffhanger and don't have to wait a year for the continuation. So that's actually nice.
And thankfully the trailer has also been released, which means that the wait is finally over. And that trailer looks intense again. Intensely weird too, but it's Riverdale, so that's totally fine. Spoiler: Betty and Archie had a heated make-out session last season and that seems to come out with Veronica and Jughead. Then they also have their prom at school, which — I guess — will be the cliffhanger, because everything is bound to go wrong there. On top of that, a mysterious person is making all kinds of videos of the main characters wearing masks while they are killing people. Yes, seriously; all of this is happening with underage students.
Who cares that it's absolutely no longer realistic, I seriously can't wait for the series to be back on Netflix. And the wait is almost over. Thursday, January 21, it will be on Netflix (Wednesday the 20th on TV in the United States). Just another month. SO EXCITED.
