Science Says: chocolate during your pregnancy also makes your baby happy

Look, the fact that chocolate can provide an instant happy feeling during a bad day is nothing new, and that as a chocolate lover you become extra choco loco during your pregnancy from Twix, Maltesers, and a homemade Kinder Bueno ice cream won't surprise you much either. But what you might not have known, and I bet this will be good news in many cases... Is... That... Chocolate during your pregnancy not only makes you happy, but also your baby extra happy.

Look, these are the studies we can work with, right? Curious how this story exactly goes? I have of course looked it up for us. Or better said: Finnish scientists did that. For their study, they investigated how much chocolate was eaten by women with a six-month-old baby. They also looked into how happy the child felt. And guess what? The babies of the women who regularly ate chocolate during their pregnancy felt clearly happier than the children who were not treated to chocolate in the womb. What does this have to do with? According to the scientists, there are several explanations for this. First of all, it could be that babies become happier from the chocolate itself that reaches them via the placenta, but what it probably also has to do with is the happy moment of mommy, who relaxes extra with a cup of tea and a piece of chocolate and passes her good vibes on to her unborn child. Long story short: enough reason for you to occasionally treat yourself to chocolate without guilt from now on. I mean: everything for our child, right? Moo-ha.
