See see see: Temple on Videoland

This one has come online very slyly. A while ago, I read about it and thought: I need to keep an eye on this. But yeah, life happened and then we went into lockdown again and a new series with Carice van Houten was no longer something I thought about. I checked Videoland last night, and it's already there. WHUT. I checked the Great Oracle aka Google, and it's been there since December 10. Hey Videoland, series like this should be announced with a bit more fanfare, you know.

By the way, I blame Videoland because they are streaming the series called Temple. Not because they are actually behind it: it was already shown on the BBC. Yes, fully in English, with ‘our’ Carice in one of the lead roles. That's already a reason to want to see it, but check out the trailer too. I think it's really exciting.

The series is about an underground clinic where injured criminals are taken in. Sounds sketchy and it is, but the surgeon who opened this clinic sees no other way out. His wife is sick and he needs money for her treatments. The clinic can be accessed through all the abandoned underground tunnels in London. Freakyyy.

Soon, Anna (Carice van Houten) joins the clinic. She has a medical background and knows the surgeon (named Daniel) from the past. A guy named Jamie also joins the group, a former bank robber. Sounds pretty grim, right? Especially those abandoned tunnels, they can only look really cool.

By the way, it might be that you already know this concept, as it is based on the Norwegian series Valkyrien. And Scandinavian series are now my favorite. Let's see if they have done it justice.
