Hilary Duff, don't say it's true
Aaaaaah, what a bummer. I was really all set for that Lizzie McGuire reboot that was announced with a lot of fanfare in August. Many fans were with me, but as if 2020 hasn't tormented us enough, Hilary now comes with a sad announcement. That McGuire 2.0 is not going to happen.
‘I feel so honored to have had Lizzie in my life. She has made such a big impact on many, including me,’ Hilary writes on Instagram. ‘I know a lot of effort has been put into making a new series, but unfortunately, that is not going to work. I want a sequel to be honest and true to how Lizzie would be now. I am very sad, but everyone did their best, but unfortunately, it just wasn't meant to be.’
Meh. I was really looking forward to seeing how Lizzie was doing as a thirty-something. But oh well, Hilary, a wise woman once said: ‘If it’s over, let it go and come tomorrow, it will seem so yesterday.’
Sigh. Gotta love the 2020’s.
