The 8 hotspots in Bonaire that you want to check off

An additional advantage of half of Europe being orange? Then we just look for nice places outside of Europe. And well, thanks to corona: the plane tickets are now also very affordable to further destinations. Result: everywhere around me, people are flying towards the Dutch Antilles. I understand that. Beautiful weather guarantee (even later in the year and my fingers are itching to book that à la minute), crystal clear blue water, beautiful beaches, a cocktail on the side, and nothing more to do.
Fortunately, I receive all the photos with love (they are answered with a bit less love because at the moment of writing it is raining cats and dogs here), and therefore I have made a decision for myself. I am also going to Bonaire. And when I am there, I will check off all these places from my to visit list.
1. Ocean Oasis Beach Club
You go to the hotspot in Bonaire above for the coziness, drinks, and/or if you are with a large group. But if you really want to relax in ultimate peace (and luxury), then this is the place to be. When I think of tropical beaches, white sands, and blue seas, I genuinely see this kind of beach clubs in front of me. Ultimate vacation feeling.
2. La Cantina
Time for... TAPAS. Yes, you can just have it all in Bonaire. The freshest fish of course, but they also have a super fun brewery next to the restaurant. Bonaire has a busy area, and this is right in the middle of it. So coziness is guaranteed.
3. Bamboo Bali Bonaire
Bali is unfortunately closed for the rest of this year for us, but in Bonaire, you will also find a piece of Bali and that may sound like a big detour, but it is currently the closest we can get. And yes, I really love that Balinese atmosphere. So sleep here, eat, book a massage, and discover Bonaire from here. And book a sunbed on the beach.
4. Jibe City
The place to surf (or learn to surf) in Bonaire. If you don't dare to do that, you can also take sup or yoga lessons on the beach. Either way, this is the gathering place of the island, they often organize barbecues, and it is basically all about coziness. Even if you can't last two seconds on such a board.
5. Brass Boer Bonaire
For now, this spot in Bonaire is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, but keep an eye on the site — because hopefully those times will be extended (especially if we all go to this island). And yes, you really want to go here. It is the Antillean sister of De Librije. Just imagine: those kinds of beautiful dishes in a tropical setting. Ehm, yes please?
6. Windsock The Beach
Here’s a tip from a reader: this is one that shouldn’t be missed in this list. And a look at the site confirms that indeed. I would love to stay here when I’m lounging in Bonaire. Those apartments look so relaxed, but the restaurant (including beach beds) is also a real recommendation.
7. Little Havana
Cozy bar where artists often perform. And not from the category Davina Michelle, but locals and it’s going to be a good time anyway. Those performances are now — logically — a bit quiet, but in the evenings there isn’t much hustle and bustle to be found in Bonaire except here. So in that respect, this spot is also a recommendation right now.
