The advantage of having a second baby

Call it naïve or ignorant, but I do quite well with barely reading all the corona updates. During the lockdown, I only became more panicked by all that (fake) news, so it seemed better to me to limit that amount a bit. I only found out a few hours in advance that there would be a new speech on Monday, and then my courage sank again: slowly back to that intelligent lockdown? Let's hope not and pray that everyone will adhere to the rules more strictly. Health and safety first.

I think this is not an exception for any mother: with your second, you are so much more relaxed and easier than with your first: from strict schedules to a sugar-free policy, screen time, and homemade snacks. With Otis, I only used jars when we went on vacation, and so far I have put a fresh meal on the table for Elias every evening. But then I received a package from Daily Baby last week: super tasty snacks made from vegetables and fruit, zero additives, and ‘cold pressed’, so the snack is just as super tasty as if you made it yourself. And the creators want that healthy and fresh baby food is accessible to everyone: for 2.99 euros you already have a healthy snack, and the creators donate per sold Daily Baby to Save The Children. I immediately ordered a whole batch. Apparently, ‘easier’ and ‘just as healthy’ is also an option.

Scented candles are one of the few gifts that I always have on my wish list: with a new scented candle, my house feels and smells new right away. I once made the ridiculous decision to buy a scented candle made of a hundred pieterballs, which you then literally burn... This find of the tastiest and affordable scented candle was therefore a big tip on my list. The Grayson Candles, with the slogan ‘natural based and clean burning’, look beautiful on the table, smell wonderfully intense, and of ‘real’ ingredients. My favorite scent so far is Seasalt & Juniper, but I can't wait for the limited autumn and winter editions to come out, and maybe I will have a new favorite.

As the ultimate ‘test addict’ of the latest creams, I have certainly built up some favorites over the years that I have continued to use, such as the Hyalu B5 serum from La Roche-Posay, the Magic Night Cream from Charlotte Tilbury, and the CC cream from Chanel. A brand that always comes back is Dermalogica, and I am a huge fan of their Daily Microfoliant. But now they are launching the Hydro Masque Exfoliant, which softens, renews, and gives your skin a glow afterwards. And indeed: my skin feels ultra-soft and hydrated. I think I have found a new favorite to add to my list.
