The best beauty trip

I knew the brand Babor from my youth. My mother used it and the mothers of my friends. I remember a brown package with golden letters. And that they were happy with it, too. And the ampoules of course, I found that fascinating. A glass vial where you snapped off the cap and smeared the emulsion over your face. Later, yes later, I did that too.
Now I was suddenly invited by that friend from a distant past. If I wanted to immerse myself in the world of the German beauty brand. What I found out was that that friend from the past had kept up with the times and also your bestie will stay for the coming years.

Babor is a family business (third generation) where everything is done in Germany. Science and research take place in Germany, as well as product development and the final manufacturing of the product. During the tour of the building, which has expanded tremendously over the past decades, I see how the ampoules are filled and packaged. We even see the packaging of the special Easter box that is launched every year in a special and of course limited edition. The involved employee begs us not to share the egg on our social channels. Alright, we will hold back. Babor was a pioneer in the beauty field. They launched the phenomenon of ampoules, which means the product does not come into contact with oxygen, allowing you to apply the most concentrated version to your skin each time. Furthermore, they were the ones who came up with the now widely copied idea of the beauty advent calendar. And the Easter box, of course.
What makes Babor an even more interesting brand for me is that more women work there than men (67% versus 33%), that everything is made with green electricity and transported carbon neutral. They also no longer use plastic wrap for their products, something that I can get worked up about every time I unpack a bottle of something that is so hermetically packaged as if it needs to be transported to the moon.

So Babor does not do that. Kitty, the Dutch director of Babor, is the best ambassador the brand could think of. Because she looks well-preserved in a J.Lo way, but also because she understands us women, works hard, travels a lot, and knows how to take care of your skin. I belong to the group of spoiled women when it comes to cosmetic products, but I have really become a fan of her favorites. I will list them briefly.
The Hy-Öl, truly the best cleansing imaginable. Two pumps in your hand, mix with some water, apply to your eyes and woof, it's gone. Then the shower gel from their spa segment. Kitty always has that tube with her so she feels at home in any hotel, and I now have it standard in my gym bag. I don't have time for a real spa experience, but this way I create my own little moment in the shower. Furthermore, I am a fan of their Active Purifier which has active ingredients against an impure skin and pimples, perfect for approaching teenagers.
Think of all this with the picturesque Aachen with their natural, pure springs and the very reasonable prices and you also want to be part of the Babor family And did you know they have their own salon in Amsterdam? In a great building? I would say: go take a look and experience it. If I am a fan, you will not be disappointed.
