The big am-I-shopaholic?-test

may laughing on the street with a shopping bag from Buise in Amsterdam

I know, it may not be very wise in times of corona because who knows how you will fare financially later, but the true shopaholic simply has selective hearing when it comes to wise advice. Therefore, the big am-I-shopaholic?-test to see if you are in the danger zone.

1.  You experience physical reactions during the sale
Increased heart rate, hot flashes, nothing new for the shopaholic.

2. There are at least four items still tagged in your closett
Because having the item often marks the end of the fun, which also applies to newly purchased clothing.

3. There are always three items ready to be returned.

4. Your neighbors sigh deeply when yet another package for you is delivered to them.

5. You know the different delivery services (DPD, UPS, PostNL) and the corresponding driver.

6. When you go shopping, you always happen to pass by your favorite store.

7.  You never leave that store without buying something.

8. Salespeople in the store know you by name.

9. Salespeople in your favorite store have your number.

10. Salespeople in your favorite store text you if there’s something that’s ‘totally you’.

11. The amount that is discounted feels like money you’ve earned. Or at least saved. That’s how it is, right?

12. You certainly don’t inform your housemates every time you buy something new.

13. And the time when you placed a new item on the edge of your bed to look at it all night is actually long gone, greedy hoarder that you are.

Okay, you stimulate the economy, but it can really be less. Try to breathe new life into old items, do some exchanges with friends.

This is mainly a very big Note To Self.

Amen.
